Looking to Rent a HDR-FX1 Casing

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum, and i hope to get a bunch out of it. I've read a few posts on here so far, and it seems like a really cool crowd! So i figured i'd shoot my query at you guys.

I'm in Dallas, TX, and i'm looking to rent (def not buy) a casing for my HDR-FX1 camera. Anybody here know anyone or any place that rents those out? Doesnt have to be in Dallas, but preferably somewhere in Texas.

i do have a VX2000 as well, but i'd of course prefer shooting on my FX1. but if its easier to find a casing for the VX2000, then i wouldnt mind shooting with it.

anyways, I'd greatly appreciate your help!!

Try the guys at Backscatter - I know they have FX1 / Z1 housings availabale for rental.

Or try Mike at H2OPhotopros. He's slightly cheaper than Backscatter.

Mike at h20photopros has Gates manual housings.....I have a new electronic Amphibico Phenom housing for the FX1, including dual Amphibico 35-50 watt HID'S. It is brand new so I am going to be testing it out all next week, but it will be available after that to rent. I have modified mine to employ both color correction and macro flip downs, and I have managed to get the dual flips to work.

Hollywood divers in Los Angeles also rents out a Gates FX-1 housing with a flat port, http://www.hollywoodivers.com/.

Thanks for your help so far, but all those places are in California, and i was wondering if anybody knew of a place in texas. Renting one of those isn't cheap, so i'd like to avoid paying extra shipping cost, when i know i can drive there if need be.

but i already contacted H2O and backscatter if they knew of a place in Texas that would be of help.

RebreatherDave, are you in Texas by any chance?

Also try Underwater Unlimited in Houston, they're a Gates dealer.

hth,

I know somebody already referred you to Backscatter and you prefer a Texas dealer, but here's the backscatter link for future searches.
