  1. Nice breath holding, Wagsy.

  2. Maybe when we talk lenses and Bluefin we should specify FX Bluefin or A1 Bluefin. Heres one for Barrett. On the A1 Bluefin your site specifies 65% FOV on the zoom macro that comes standard with the housing. Why do you still list the wide and ultra wide (weitwinkel) lenses option on there (for the A1)? Am I wrong or is that the same lens page I viewed when I bought my Stingray housing in the 90'. I'm waiting on that HD WA (for the A1) either way. I enjoyed your gallery stuff, any A1 comparison's. Thanks. John

  3. Yeah, that page needs updating. We did specify that the SWA doesn't work with the HC1/HC3/A1U, but you've got to read through the text to find that out. The better news is that an 80 for the Bluefin HC1/HC3/A1U seems to be working out quite nicely. -barrett

  4. Sorry, I ignored your A1U comparision request. Optically. the A1U and the HC1 are identical. The HC3 seems to use the same glass as well. So it would be really hard to tell the difference b/t these cameras by looking at edited footage. B/c the HC3 sensor is lightly smaller potentially you could set up a controlled test to tell the difference, but I think you are splitting hairs at that point or relying on factors other than the camera's glass to come into play. -Barrett

  5. pmooney thanks for the stills.

Anders, thanks for the pics. I like the flat, glass, uncoated front of that wide port. Me + staghorn coral + coated-plastic-goldfish-bowl ports do not mix well.

Incidentally I polished all of the coating off my Stingray 2's wide lens with Microgloss after a fair bit of it had been scratched off (not by me). It doesn't seem to have made much difference.
