Will the Sea&Sea PT-010 Lens Adaptor fit PT-030?

6 posts
  1. I just recently bought a SP-350 (too good of a deal to pass up) and I am about to order the PT-030 housing for it. I use Sea and Sea Lenses in an adaptor on my current underwater digital. If I order the Sea & Sea adaptor for the PT-010 will it fit my PT-030 housing? If not, is there an adaptor that will fit? I would prefer not to have to buy new lenses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Zo,

I use a Sea&Sea 16mm wet conversion lens with my PT-030. I have a step up ring from the 46mm housing to allow the lens to screw on. There is ever so slight a vignetting at the widest angle but it works fantastic. If you do a search on this sight of SP-350 I've actually posted some pics of the difference the lens makes. I've been thrilled with it.

Thanks for the input. I currently use a 16mm SandS lens on my current cam rig. What kind of adaptor do you use to allow the bayonet mount on the Sea and Sea to connect to the housing?

    Thanks again for your help.

  4. It doesn't bayonet mount. It's made for a Nikonos so it screws onto the housing and I use a simple step-up adapter to match the thread size of the 16mm. I don't believe there is an adapter to use the bayonet style mount on the SP-350. However, the simple solution is to sell the 16mm bayonet mount and purchase the one built for a Nikonos.

  5. Excellent. Thanks for all the advice guys I appreciate it. Hopefully I'll be able to pick one up before my trip to the Oriskany next weekend.
