I am just back from Sardinia, which is fabulous. It is a excellent diving destination, although I didn't go there to dive - it was a vacation!
Although I didn't dive I did take some pictures - but I'd like to get my excuses in early. First please remember I didn't dive - all the pictures are taken snorkelling, also I only took one lens and I didn't take any strobes.
Anyway I really enjoyed my taster of Sardinia and I am very much looking forward to going back there and diving.
You can see a small gallery of my pix from Sardinia here.

Here are a few of my faves for those just browsing:
Closest I got to diving:
It was a holiday, afterall:
This is the wreck of a plane - although annoyingly the wings are under the sand:
And finally a bit of wildlife, cormorants:

Great shots Alex, thank for sharing. My fav is #1.
Thats a nice .. ahem ... boat ... is it yours ?
Boats are usually refered to as "she", Giles. Go and get your book. My Dad keeps bugging me about it from Cayman.
Alex
yes sir ... and you can tell me all about how much a good time you had on her in september.
wheres the romantic sunsets?
He was too busy romancing to shoot sunsets Mike.
Good work Alex!! Are they with or without Magic?
Great pics Alex.
Hey... how did you get 4 girls jumping in like that
Very cool Alex! I've never seen a photo of the boat before. She looks great!
Cheers
James
So it really is Alex's boat?
Wow Alex posts a few pic from his trip and from the posts we can discern:
1. A few of Alex's friends can't/didn't believe he has a 'boat'
2. Alex is possibly a real stud muffin for impossibly holidaying with 4 identical 'boats' , quadruplets!
3. Alex and his friends are possibly misogynists, refering to women as 'boats'
4. That scubadru is really bored waiting for his 'plumber' to arrive, and misses his own 'boat.'
Glad to see this has turned into a serious photographic discussion!
To clarify, the boat belongs to my girlfriend's dad. Like I can afford a boat working as an underwater photographer! Sardinia is really beautiful and I can't wait to go diving there. It is very handy having a GF who comes from such an excellent diving destination. GF currently asleep - I wonder if I can photoshop her into twins in real life.
Back to the photography. The 10.5mm is a great lens - but I wish I had taken a macro lens and a strobe as well. There were loads of cool blennys/gobies/triplefins on the rocks. Admittedly they are hard to see in this picture:
Alex
I can easily see the triplefins and gobies - there are several in the lower RHS of the pic.
This GF sounds like a winner. Several things in her favour: makes a great model, appears to be "clonable" and has father with boat. I'm sure she's a lovely gal too mate. Congratulations on all fronts.
And ignore that Drew fellow.
Hope your plumber and your boat come soon Drew.
I'm afraid that despite eponymous nomenclature, I can't be of any assistance...
yes sir ... and you can tell me all about how much a good time you had on her in september.
