The other thing is that the sRGB color space is terrible at reproducing red-based gradients. The kelp bulbs don't have a smooth gradient, when I look closely.
Perhaps I should go back to the raw file and get a 16-bit tiff out of them to see what happens.
We could all rent a pad, that would make it cheaper and, save Erics house and travel etc. Isn't Ronda's place down in that area Eric?
Um. I believe Ronda lives about 6 hours from me -- but the route is not coastal, so it's probably a good four hours from Monterey, if you're lucky.
Are you guy's interested in coming down to Florida Mexico & Cuba - I think I've gotten a downward momentum starting - better start getting more plastic together!
I think Cuba would be great. As for our American friends, I believe they have to go north before they can go south to Cuba.
The USA won't let them travel there direct.
ps Bob you guys are welcome to come vist me here but, no need for dive gear. My house is always open. Not sure how that would fit in with your flights but, thought I would mention it. It is on the way but, probably not one of the stops.
As for Monterey that would mean renting a place I guess then. Not sure if Ronda does cold water diving but I would certainly invite/let her know if we were in the area. I would still bring some wine anyway Eric.
Eric,
I very much enjoyed your shots from Monterrey. Will you be posting more in an online gallery? I am very interested to see your results w/ the fisheye lens. Did you use it for some over-unders?
Cheers
James
Most of my old buddies are from the LA Pasadena areas - twice as far as Eric, but I'll try and get em up there.
