  1. For some reason I can't link both pictures in my previous post ?

    I'm getting this:

Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed

Both pictures are linked to my website. The picture of my controls links but the second picture of my dome port won't ? I made both pictures at the same time and can't see any differences in them ?

What is the address of the second picture? I'll see what's up with itl

  3. You have to link the image directly; i.e.: webaddress/image.jpg

It won't work if it is doesn't end in JPG, GIF or some image file extension.

  4. Rename the file to remove the apostrophe, then change the link accordingly.

Apostrophes have other meanings in computerese.

    Hi Federico,

Did you see the picture I posted here ?

Do you need a better picture ?, if so,

I'll try and make you a better close up picture of the parts separately, not installed.

  8. Hi Marc,

Thanks for sharing your diy project. I'm trying to make a 9" or 11" dome port for my ikelite housing. I'd already made the extension. All I need is an acrylic dome which has at less 0.25" thick. Could you tell me where did you get your dome?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I just noticed your reply.

I tried looking around for the original receipt for the dome but could not find it.

It's been years since I bought this dome and when I did, I bought many different sizes in quantity.

I can tell you I bought them from a Compass repair company from the New England area..

Don't be surprised that it is a compass dome. Most dome ports in old days originally came from compass dome manufactures. You have to be very selective when your shopping around for a good quality dome. That's why I bought them from a compass repair company. Most often they can tell you who's domes are of a better quality. Just make sure you tell them what your using it for.

I've had very good results with many that I've bought over the years. If I remember correctly I paid about $45.00 For the 9.25" domes and $35.00 for the 6" domes. In any event you haven't got much to lose if you give it a try. Try searching the net for compass repair.

    Best of Luck,

    Marc

  10. Hello:

    Very nice housing!!!

How did you managed to fix the dome to its base? Some special glue?

I could notice that some commercial dome ports says "field serviceable" or something like this.

Is there a way to attach the domes without using glue?

    Thank you!

    Alejandro
