Inon UWL 100 28AD - cure for cams which ikelite says "do not work with wetlens"?

  1. Many otherwise attractive cameras, such as the sony V3 and the canon G7, have ikelite housings, but they say the do not work with WA wetlenses.

It seems to me the 28AD lens and mount might cure this, since it should not vignette, at a much wider viewing angle.

Has anyone every tried getting ikelite to put on a 28AD type mount?

Or put an Inon mount on there?

    Thanks!

    Don

  2. Got my g7/ike housing on order. A mate has an epoque WA lense that I'll try to see if it makes any difference. With a bit of luck, it'll be worthwhile still to get one.

Let us know how it turns out with the G7. I was tempted to buy one.

However, I think this is the reason (and solution) for that statement:

  4. Right, but that was all with the smaller wide angle lens - made for 35mm WA cams.

The one made by inon for 28mm lens, has a much wider diameter mount, and lens port.

This would require a wider port and bayonet mounting ring, than the standard one that comes stock on the ikelite housing.
