The P5100 is indeed a very good camera at a very good price. The results would be very near to a DSLR Camera and it is definetly a good start.
Fantasea has a very good Camera housing - FP-5000 that fits as well for the P5100.
They also offer DEPP Flood insurance for your camera free for the first year.
I recommend looking at one of Fanatsea's resellers, one is Mozaik Underwater Cameras .
