  1. I've been traveling the last couple of weeks so excuse me if this is old news but I didn't see a thread on it.

There were many names that I recognized as Wetpixel members including COR (Best of Show) but I am sure there are others I don't know This is my shot that took 1st place in the Majestic category. I wanted to point out that the diver in the background is our own Jeff Hartog (Loftus.) Thanks for the nice modelling job Jeff :)

No, great shot, I don't think I help at all, in fact looks better if I place my thumb over the model.

  3. great stuff everyone, shame about the ugly model in that one image though. :)

  10. Some pretty stunning images. So does novice just mean first time entering that competition, how we consider ourselves, or what? Because checking out some of these novice images, I am going to reclassify myself as total newbie, or maybe experienced but just lousy.

    Cor,

This is really an amazing image. How did you light this? A ring flash or strobes right next to the lens?

  13. I was actually going after mating hamlets. It was close to dusk, and on our way to the hamlets I saw this lizardfish sitting there. I figured id be too late, but inched my way closer anyways, and it stayed there for quite some time being cleaned. I had 2 YS110 strobes and a 105mm lens, the strobes were pushed forwards to light it better. I made sure the beams would overlap on the face. It was too far I think for a ring flash.

Never made it to the hamlets :)

Cool. Way too often Lizardfish dart away, nice job getting in there. Hope you get your hamlets next time :)
