  1. MaximDim was that your pushbike down there you were tying to lock up or steal :)

Hey when you live in a isolated town you need to improvise.

Yep a bolt through the arm hole and a few cable ties. :)

Yes the lights underwater this end are only slightly negative as well.

Here is a little clip I made with and without the home made diffusers in.

  2. Wagsy,

You sold me on yogurt diffusers - time to make a trip to grocery store.

I have to admit that your underwater landscape is slightly different from what we dive here. :-)

  3. Hey All,

    Well I did it...

Purchased 2 darkbusters last night from scuba.com they come with all the standard accessories plus a hard case thrown in with each.

For anyone else thats looking for a good price.

Once converted to Aus dollars was $1027 inc postage. Which was better than the aus sites that had them for 500 each with out cases.

Just have to wait the probably 3 weeks for delivery.... Waiting sucks... No cases from Aus arrival 4 days, Cases from US arrival 3 weeks.. they had better be good cases. lol

Def doing the yogurt filter. What do you thing works better strawberry or tropical yogurt. I prefer strawberry but don't mind the tropical.... I think I'll have to try both maybe more than once... :)

Did you find the tub plastic breaks down. do you have to replace them often due to heat from the lights?

Sent a message to the guys at scubapix .com regarding the adapter and clamp for the mounting and they replyed with a cost of $198 per handle.

Is this roughly the price I should be expecting?

    Peter.

Which adapter you're referring to? ULCS I used were about $40 USD each if I recall correctly.

  5. Ha ha good to hear.

For what they are they work great but there is better out there if you have the $$$

Those new led lights are the way to go.

I'll have a look next time I'm at the shops as to what brand of Yogurt I used. :D

If you use them out of the water the lights will melt but you can use them out of the water if you take the diffusers off. I'm still on my first set I made.

this is a small excert from the reply I got from scubapix.com regarding the same setup as yours. They are the Aust. distributors of ULCS.

Using your existing handles is possible - a small amount of filing is required to give a flat even surface for the base washer to seat on.

Your system would then be visually the same.

Cost of 2 handle adaptors , 2 clamps and 2 HID light adaptors would be $198.00 per side ( $396.00 ).

Let me know how you would like to procede.

Seems a bit pricey to me...

  7. I bought mine from reefphoto, in US. They have prices on website so you can compare:

  8. Had a look at the site above and there prices are much better...

Problem is when I do a shipping estimate to Oz just for the UD-UK adapter the shipping is $133 plus parts.

    This sucks..

Anyone know anywhere in Aus to get this stuff.

    Wagsy??
