  1. I have a glossy 17 incher...

I went for the 2.93 but didnt want to wait for the matt screen, the new trackpad takes some getting used to as does the spacing on the keyboard.

I understand Wag's sentiment with regards to looking at the pricing, but once you've used a mac for a few months it really does become part of you. Plus they have a much nicer resale value.

Curious to hear if the extra $ for the 2.93 was worthwhile ?

  2. I dont know how to quantify it, but rendering is a lot less painful than on my old MBP. The way i see it, you might as well get the best chip you can - you cant change it later.

  3. You are all missing the point. A PC doesn't run Mac OS X. End of story.

Oh Simon, you tempt me so! :(

  5. I have both

P.C for winding you lot up with my excellent and witty repoirtee if not a little ironic and non offensive sarcasm... But still empty in a glassy way... :(

And my MBP for editing my stuff... Well cutting, pasting and hoping

    Both do their job nicely...

I have a quadcore desktop with 2 x 24" monitors and 8gb ram that disagrees with that statement :(

I think 6.03. i'm currently on 6.04. 6.04 also requires your OS to be uptodate.

Cant believe you havent worked out how to do this yet... You also need to download the plugin for log and transfer. The Sony software that came with the cam has been updated too.
