"In the future, when dealing with a travel agent, beware of what you buy, and get something in writing"
I guess you've given yourself your own best advice here. Caveat Emptor and a bonded travel agent has to be a good idea when booking a trip like this. But Jeez, how long does it take to get a replacement passport in CA? Here in the UK I can get one inside of week...
While I don't know, or want to get involved, in the specifics in your case, for the future you might want to keep a couple of things in mind.
Yes, cancel in writing and make sure you know what their cancelation policy is. 45-60 days is pretty normal.
You can get a passport replaced in 30 days or maybe a lot less by paying a fee. Maybe even a few days if you have a xerox of it.
The dates may have been off a day as they are past the international dateline. Usually the airlines list them as such, but some agents get confused.

My passport was taken by law enforcement, so its not so easy to get another one. I will get my passport back, but when is the question.
Yikes! That doesn't sound good.
Best of luck to both parties getting this all resolved.

James Wiseman
that's too bad, I hope you get this resolved.
btw, the terms and conditions form says no refunds at all, did they have you sign it when you paid?

No paperwork was sent to me until a few days after I cancelled. I signed nothing, and had no verbal notification about any refund pollicy.
Geoff Brandon -- is this you?

I'm told it is, and am curious! (and your IP address matches Eureka)
Well, if I was in charge of Kids Sea Camp, I'm sure we could have worked something out. ![]()
The libertarian in me wants to say something, but I'll just walk on by....
Wow, I was born and lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa, which is the county seat in Pottawattamie County. Shame on you for bringing drugs into my home town. That's the first I've ever heard of pot being in the county. ![]()

Yeah, it is, but how does that have anything to do with my issue here?

Trust me, the last intention I had was stopping in Iowa. No offense on your hometown.
And dont believe everything you read in the paper. Im not going to go into details, but besides allot of erroneous statements in the articles, let me clarify that "excessive speeding" was them alleging I was going 58 mph in a 55 zone. for a grand total of 3 mph over the limit, which I still dispute since my truck was on cruise control at 55. Never mind the locals drive through there at 65 all day long and dont get pulled over.
Lastly, before any of you pass judgment, Iv'e been around the world enough and met enough "free lance" photographers and videographers, etc. to know allot of you would be the pot calling the kettle black.
Yeah, it is, but how does that have anything to do with my issue here?
Well, it kinda hurts your credibility a tad but good luck anyway.
Dude it's just money....grow some more! ![]()

...deputies discovered more than 200 growing marijuana plants and $10,000 cash hidden in the home, according to a Humboldt County Sheriff's Office press release.
The Brandons were booked into Humboldt County jail for cultivation and possession of marijuana with $100,000 bail each.
Two agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were present at the time of the search warrant and multiple firearms were recovered....
Uh huh, well we are "shooters" after all. Dude, you bought that trip with illegal funds, if SeaCamp does return it the Feds will seize it anyway. I'd say your credibility here is just about zilch.
Nice catch Eric.

Uh, I think he was being humorous. No one else is passing judgment. Good luck with all of it. BTW, I'm with you on probable cause. I know people that have been stopped for absolutely no valid reason and had their cars tossed. Sniffer dogs are highly overrated.
Jack nailed it. I pulled Geoff's post until we have more information. There is definitely more to this than what was posted here.

YOU are pointing fingers where you have no idea where they are pointing. I paid taxes on over $240k last year, all legal. My wife has a esthetician business and I have a computer consulting business. I didn't have anything to do with the pot in my truck, except the fact I was transporting it for someone. And secondly, no charges have been filed on my arrest at my home because it was 100% legal within the limits of medical marijuana. Lastly, there has been no federal charges and on the state level I can prove everything they siezed was paid for with legal funds. A 3rd grader could do the math and see that there is no possible way I could have grown what I had with me when I was arrested in iowa. With the small medical grow I had it would take over 5 years to grow 100lbs.
But thanks for jumping to conclusions. And why would my credibility even be called into question? Did you ever think that it was a possiblility that the marijuana in question was for a medical dispensary? If your looking for a real criminal why dont you try the corporate executives that are bankrupting this country. Or maybe go after the real drug dealers, the pharmaceutical compaines that continue to push doctors to prescribe pills for anything they can think of.
I think a mod should just close this thread. Its so far off topic its in another zip code.

What did he nail? The post with the most speculation?
