On the other hand, if you were going to switch to Canon, the 5D is a nice interim camera. It'll cost more to change brands but in the long run, the higher resolution sensors of the Canons will give you what you want (again assuming it's not your lens, post process or pixel peeping!)
Changing brands have pros and cons. Canon has the higher resolution cameras in the standard DSLR (vs Pro bodies). Depends on whether you think the lower performing AF will affect your photography.
