Well I finally made my decision about my first Camera

I agree with Steve totally, I used to capture whole tapes but now capture individual clips. It makes it heaps easier to delete clips that you will never use.

miniDV is fine tapes are fine.

So my question is what are the best tapes to use with HDV and where do you get them?

Hi, I've been using the Sony mini dv premium tapes with 3 different hdv cams, 1 Sony and two Canons incl an hv-30 and have never had a drop out or problem with them. Gone thru at least 100 or so. You can get them all over Ebay and I'm sure other places.

Good luck with whatever you choose as a cam, I went with the hfs-11.
