  1. We found one spot with 4 within a couple of metres of each other, plus a frogfish, banded moray 4 species of lionfish and a wonderpuss too... Just 2m deep :(

I am planning next years trip for September if you are interested, and maybe a jump to Sangalaki for some manta too.

  2. OK, so now I'm definitely green :(

... and yellow and black and orange...

    definitely keep me posted!

    [no pun intended ;)]

  6. Ok I'm not posting every coloUr I have a picture of right now. Maybe when I get home.

    Here's one.

  7. I'm a little late to the party, but here's a few pygmies...

The first ones are extremely pregnant, Komodo, 70-180

    03kmd133.jpg03kmd140.jpg

Pregnant ones really try to stay within the coral. There were no handholds and a current, so I had to shoot these free-swimming, upcurrent at 30m.

Here's one that appears to not be on the right coral.

    03kmd105.jpg

The coral had algae patches and this pygmy was within one.

Next ones were extremely small and difficult to shoot. 200mm +3

They're color did not match the coral but were so small many divers couldn't see them anyway. The last one I caught free-swimming. Not a good photo but interesting.

The last ones are from nudi falls in Lembeh, 200mm +3. Also extremely small.

These are uncropped. That's all the lens saw!

  8. Ghost pipefish.

Pretty robust one like the one in Lembeh but found in Komodo:

Todd's ornate one at nudi falls:

Yellow ornate playing hard to get:

He couldn't resist the pointer, though:

Dogs and cats sleeping together! Oh my!

  9. Damn, now I have to go back to find that new version of seahorses!

    Well done!

  10. The bad news about Pygmies is that they are fast disapearing due probably to photographic types destroying their eysights!

'Denise' and the yellow, white and brown Hypocampus (sp) have all disappeared from most Indonesian locations. The Red knobbly ones however, are sticking it out, and were obvious on various sites in Samama and Sangalaki. Didn't shoot any tho'.

The Yellow version pictured on the cover of Asian Diver has disappeared too, this WAS due directly to photo-abuse.

The shots of denise were taken on the Liberty Wreck, yes?

  11. Exquisite series of images, Craig. I would give my right fin for such extraordinary shots. :(

Special congratulations on the Hippocampus denise shots. I'm betting somewhere around Komodo/Flores, not Bali.

In the Komodo area. We did not dive Bali itself, except at the pool at the Sheraton Laguna.

We didn't do the Liberty wreck. These were at magic rock below the "magic rock" itself at about 24m.

I could only get the heads in my 100% frame :(

  15. Hi guys

    Some great photos pasted already!

Only just got home from Sangalaki. As you all know I forgot my PC so I couldn't do any significant review of my photos on the trip so I now have a couple of thousand images to look through. And not much spare time coming up. It's just like shooting film again! Meanwhile my hard drive is full so I have some housekeeping to do. All in all it looks like I won't be ready to post anything until the fun is over... :(

Meanwhile I'm relying on the rest of you to keep making the rest of wetpixel jealous!

  16. Can I post some of mine?

  17. Heck yeah!

Man, I wish I was there...

    Cheers

    James

  18. Bring the misses on next years trip - We will be doing shore & Live aboard hookup whilst in Lembeh to allow families to come out too.

  19. Actually today she said I could go if she can go shopping with the same amount of money for clothes.

What am I getting myself into. Could be worse as I have not checked my phone bill yet from when I was gone.

And, you bet Sink boy you have some great ones to show what a new guy can do. Some definate shots to frame.

  20. Yep, He chose the right trip on which to come eh!
