Across the Flores Sea

Thanks Stew, I call it my Mardarin Ménage à trois, I would be very remiss if I didn't share one more image with everyone. My wife who has dabbled with shooting underwater over the years with her little Canon P&S decided she wanted to try the 40D I took along as a spare. I set her up with the 60mm and she took this image with her 5th frame.

I love the mandarin stuff, but I actually really like the cuttlefish, too! Often photographed, but not nearly that well - it's a very dramatic shot! I, too, just got a 100mm dome, and am anxious to start using it...I'll be sure to keep the f/stop up there...

And congratulate your wife - that is an outstanding shot, and methinks perhaps the 40D has found a new home(?).

How good is magic pier! Did you have Miguel and Ana? Great guides. I spent that whole dive sitting completely still watching one group and waiting for one pair to rise up. It happened once and I got a few shots but nothing mind blowing.

Thanks Cal! We had Ben, Romoan and Kaori (sp). That young lady is the best I've ever seen. I learned very quickly to just tuck in behind and follow her where ever she went.

I must have lucked out at the Pier, I had an orgy going on in front of me. I must have seen 15 pairs rise up.
