  2. Great pictures (as yours are always) and moments!.

I would try to play with the WB on the raw converter to correct the blue dominance and get back part of the gray of the whales´skin.

  3. Beautiful set of photos, Jenny. Ridiculously cool, too. I have been thinking about going to Tonga one of these days, and it just moved much higher up my list.

  14. Jenny,

I am SOOO jealous. I would love to dive with whales of any sort. I have seen them many times from the surface and heard them underwater on a number of occasions, but never so much as a glimpse. My dream is to get an eye-to-eye closeup. In the meantime I will enjoy them vicariously by looking at your photos. Thanks,

  15. Awesome shots Jenny!

  17. Fantastic shots! We are trying to get on the books with Tony for next year and would love to hear details on the day to day operation/routine!

  18. Hi NWDiver,

    thank you!! :)

We spent 7 days looking for whales from 9am to 4pm everyday and had lunch (sandwich or burger with fruits) on boat.

The Boat is quick and has enough space : 8.5-metre long, 4-metre wide, 2x 250hp 4-stroke engines.

They organized the trip very well and took us to right position/right timing to get great images under and above water. Sometimes there are lots of whales ( we swam with 9 whales in one day!!!) but sometimes there is only two or three whales to swim with.... if there is mom/calf, we can swim for a longer time.

There are two days we can not swim in as the whales are moving too fast to catch up! However, watching and shooting their social behavior above water is also excellent!!

    cheers,
