  1. Hey Crew,

Heres some shots from today. A fair bit of scouting and planning went into this shoot. I sussed out half a dozen locations and settled on this very small spot of a remote river out of Cairns, Australia. You can see the scouting shots here (http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39738&pid=272932&st=0entry272932)

Shoot used 2 models and only natural light. Post was done in lightroom, cs 4 and nik silver FX pro. BW images are split toned silver.

  5. Wonderful work Cal.

  7. Hi Cal,

Little off topic but these are great shots and I wandered around your site, more great images. When you shoot something like this is it just to add to your portfolio? Testing techniques for possible projects? To enter in future contests? Just for fun? Clearly it is a lot of work so curious to what the motivation is?

  8. All great but the first one is just so captivating. Picturing it on aluminum, nearly wall sized is overwhelming.

Was seeing it live as captivating as the images you captured?

  9. 1 5 and 6 are jaw droping Cal. I love your style.

  10. Spectacular number 1!!

  11. Thanks guys!

Damo - heading back today :-)

Loftus - lots of leeches, lechers and even a big eel which I mentioned to the models and set off a few minutes of squeeling/trying to get out of the water haha

NWDiver - All of the above. Its for a stack of reasons. This shoot was part commission part fun and part me working on an exhibition and needing new material.

DiverDave1 - my thoughts exactly! Seeing it live was pretty awesome but not just cause it looked beautiful , rather it was awesome because all the planning came together. As I said earlier, I scouted heaps for this shoot and also I had to find the right time for the sun to come through a gap in the rain forest (4pm). So when I lined my model up and saw the light rays I just felt really chuffed the work had paid off.

    Cheers!

Yep, # 1 is my fave too. What camera?

  15. Go for it Cal....push the envelope.

    .....next stop....a book...

  16. OMG - these are amazing Cal - your best work yet IMO. I think the planning and execution are perfect.

#1 and #5 are my favorites - I like the natural colors better than the monotones. Those rays are amazing.

    Cheers

  18. I spent lots of time in streams around Cairns and never saw these creatures! Or this fantastic light! And clear water for wet season! Great shots, especially No 1.

Sorry about the delay in replying. Was hit by a cyclone and lost internet but no real damage!
