After a month I have finally pulled together a slide show from the southern Red Sea: skittish sharks, some coral bleaching, expensive excess baggage (scam?), but altogether worth it:

Umbria is a heck of a wreck - we only did 2 dives, would have preferred more.

Excess excess baggage (15kg more than at the ooutward-bound check-in) and a flight boarding in 20 minutes: pay or stay!

I've had this twice at Sharm: both times I marched my check-in case to the next counter's scales and would you believe it, the weight magically dropped.

Was that in Port Sudan or Cairo Tim ?
Would have thought it a bit too sophisticated for Port Sudan.
Maybe they have 'come up' in the world....
My only memory of Port Sudan airport was the drop toilet ( AKA hole in the floor ) and being _very_ ill.
