Yup, most PROs will stick with the 1Ds, but it seems most of the people buying the 1D MkII are not professionals, at least based on the volume and the posts on various photography forums. A better FF Canon later this year, most likely. Cheaper? Wellllll, yes, but how much cheaper remains to be seen.
I think with the advent of the MkII there are enough people to justify a lower cost housing from someone. But it comes back to my original comment, that it's not as simple as 'we want one, please go make one'.
