60mm vs 100mm macro

I am here in Lembeh diving. I brought a 100mm macro with me. With the 100mm you seem to have be further away from the subjects. With all the junk in the water, it seems that would add to the amount of backscatter. For those that have dove Lembeh, do you prefer the 60mm or 100mm macro and why?
