I have my 20D now bring on the housing choices!!

I am now very interested in this camera. I was originally thinking of getting a D70, but it seems that the autofocus on this camera is better and faster than the D70 (can anybody confirm this??), and second because of Ike's eTTL support. Please Ike, update us with a release date for the housing. Thanks!

Uwe Kiel seems to be a quiet fast CNC programmer, digideep states the housing is already available. Featuring Subtronic S6 style bulkhead for E-TTL with the Mini.

it is "planned". but that does not mean anything from my point of view.

I think Ikelite looks more promising to have 20D E-TTL ready soon.

I'm a rare poster on this forum, figuring I'll keep my mouth shut and learn.

I've been eagerly waiting for Ike to produce his housing for my new Canon 20D, which I thought was supposed to be December ...however, the local distributor here in Hong Kong has told me it will not be available until Jan. Argh!!!

I guess I'll be stuck with my (film) Nikon SLR and digi Oly for my 15 day Irian Jaya trip this Christmas... #$@(*!)((#!!!!!!

Ike, what's the chance of getting a unit before Dec 22? Preproduction beta version? Something? Anything? Please?!?!?! I'm not desperate or anything...

Nikon N90s in Nexus housing + Ikelite DS125 + SB105 + Oly 4040 + Oly housing + Nikonos V + lenses + ports + batteries + arms ...whew...= 30 kilo carry on bag. Ouch.

Christmas trip leaving so far from here is a little early, but we should be shipping 20D housings with eTTL2 during December. Housing performed nicely in Roatan last week............

Ike, I'm confused. If you'll be shipping 20D housings in December, can't you get one to Ben in time for his trip?

Middle to late December is a guess since we won't even start drilling and hammering until after the Thanksgiving weekend which is end of November. Then the glue needs to dry (I am teasing about our manufacturing procedures of course) before shipping to the other side of the world.

Housing will look very much like the 300D Rebel and 10D. Will add photos to our site later this week.

I'd be happy to skip my Thanksgiving dinner (yes, we American expatriates do manage to find turkey 'n' fixin's even on the other side of the world) and fly over to your workshop....just show me where to drill and glue! Heck, I'll stand there and fan the glue if that will make it dry faster.

Ike, any chance can I rent the prototype you used in Roatan? I'd be happy to perform more beta tests for you in Irian Jaya! I mean, the water's *very* different over here and your products ought to be tested in all environments, no? :mrgreen:
