  1. Nikon CoolPix 8700 and Ikelite 6198 Housing for 8700

I have purchased the Nikon Coolpix 8700, 8 meg, and Ike has just announced the 6198 Housing for it. As of now, this is the only housing I see on the market for this camera.

I chose this camera for several resons over the SLR. #1, I shot 90% macro and I like the wide viewing screen and macro capabilities of this camera. #2 Since I am 5'1" tall I wanted something small and compact for me to handle in current, etc.

Anyone out there thinking about the same set-up? Any negative or positive comments to help me get started with digital?

    Thanks, Annediver

  2. Hello Annediver,

Have you had the opportunity to use this set-up? I want to purchase the Coolpix 8700 & the Ike housing. I am curious about your results!

    Thanks,

    Zendiver3

  3. I own the nikon 5700 which seems to have the same lens as the 8700. I also thought about getting a housing for this camera but due to the long lens and the widest angle being only 35mm (Which i think also has a degree of vigneting), I Thought better of it.

The forum below explains some of the issues.
