3D Printing

3 posts
  1. I posted a while back about gears I've created for zoom lenses that will ideally remain dry inside a housing. I'm thinking of creating some accessories that will live outside the housing.
Nylon is supposed to be ok to get wet, but not remain submerged. Has anyone made dive accessories that stand up to extended stays in salt water?

  2. My experience is only partially applicable since I'm almost exclusively in freshwater, but I have printed hoods, ports, and even a monitor housing out of PETG that have held up for a year or two now.

  3. I've printed snoots, adaptors and a few other accessories like strobe dial extensions for uw use. Have used ABS as 3D printer material and haven't had an issue with it surviving years of use in ocean dives.
