  1. Canon UW case for the new SD300 (aka Ixus 40)?

Just bought the newly released Canon SD300 (Ixus 40) for my wife, and waiting for the Canon U/W case. Does anyone know when/if it will be released?

The Ixus 40 is a fantastic little camera by the way...didn't see much of the chromatic aberration that dpreview.com noted. Absolutely love this camera (but not as much as my new 20D!).

    Cheers,

    Ben

  2. As this is a brand new camera it may take some time for Canon to release the underwater case for it. I'm sure they will though, as they make one for the S400/S500.

    Cheers

  3. Keep an eye on Wetpixel's partner site Digideep for details. You can click and register for an update from digideep when the camera is available.

I also have an old, battered and much loved IXUS II. A great camera, and I love it much more than the EOS I used to own! Never wanted to risk it UW though!

  4. Looking at Canon's website it looks as though the housing is out. I did a search for places selling it and it is readily available.

No, the housing that is out is an AW (all-weather) housing, not a UW (underwater) housing. AW housings go to 3m, UW housings to 40m . . .

Fatpenguin's housing sounds a lot like the "generic" ones that Oceanbrite offers . . .
