back in warm water

  1. It's been a year since I made a warm water dive. I finally got my act together and spent 10 days diving Bali and 5 diving Sipadan/Mabul. Here are the first few from Bali that I've manage to process. I think you've seen some of these critters on recent post by others.

More coming as I find time to work on it.

Thanks. It's just making choices. I decided to do lots of skiing last winter and haven't been in the water at all since October before this trip.

  4. I count Bali as cold water diving! Its freezing there!

I really like the Harlequin shrimp. That's an original shot of a popular subject. Plus the eyes are sharp - which is something I always fail on!

  5. Nice shots, I'm impressed you had to brave such harsh body numbing condition to get these  , A Canadian survey recently came to the conclusion that Mike Veitch is indeed a big Wuss and the generous people of this country are making donation to have a genuine beaver furlined dry suit with Canadian Geese undergarment, all in bright Canadian red

Keep up the nice work, make's scrolling this site one of the highlight of my morning.

    Regards

  6. Nice shots! Harlequin shrimp and mantis (is a 2nd pic a mantis?) are fantastic! I like the harlequin's point of view a lot!

    Thanks for sharing

  7. Ahh, infamy! Got to love it...drysuit sounds good at this point, i believe the water dropped to a numbing 28 this morning

Last time i checked it was raining in Vancouver and still a sea temp of about 10, my drysuit will remain where it has for the last 6 years, in my parents garage...and i will remain in the tropics!!

I would appreciate the red undergarments though....sexy!

Now then, back to Herb's thread...sorry for the interruption.

  8. Hi Herb and welcome back! I can't wait to see more pix - these are excellent.

I'm heading to Bali in August and would love to hear more about it.

    Cheers

    James

  9. Great pics Herb! I love the soft lighting in the Mantis and the Harlequin shrimps. One strobe or 2 strobes w/really low aperture and low power?

    Please send more!

    David.
