Puerto Galera, Philippines, Gallery Up

  1. I finally got my Puerto Galera images posted to my Allenhost gallery.

Puerto Galera leaves a LOT to be desired topside IMHO, but the macro diving is quite good, with a broad spectrum of subjects. Night dives are especially good with lots of neat critters.

My accommodations and diving were with Atlantis, who were quite professional and well-organized. They are well-equipped for photographers at the dive shop/hotel, with camera rinse tanks and table as well as dedicated camera and multimedia room.

All were boat dives, with most sites an easy 10-15 minutes from the hotel.

My PG Gallery can be found here:

Here are a few samples, all taken with Olympus 5050 and single INON Z-220 strobe:

ps topside there is quite fun if you hang out at the Point Bar at El Galleon, Sabang Beach nightlife on the other hand....just a little different...

How is my buddy Matt at Atlantis doin these days?

Thanks, Mike. I've been trying to work harder on my composition and lighting.

    :D

Is there anyone in the Asia-Pacific you DON'T know?? :D Matt seems to be well. I'm not sure how much diving he's getting in though, as he seems to spend most of his time behind a computer answering questions from potential guests like me!

:( I believe he did manage some time off the last few days I was there.

Sabang "Beach" (and I use that term lightly), nightlife? Probably not too different from Pattaya, but on a smaller scale. :D

    Cheers.

    Michael.

  4. Your photos are gorgeous! My favorite is the little crab. What is he sitting on?

    Thanks for the comments.

Jim, I believe the Porcelain Crab is clinging on to the underside of a sea anemone that had been exposed in the current.

    Cheers.

    Michael.
