  1. ..and what many of you don't know is that Dave Haas (pictured below with me) charters a super secret Great White Shark Bahamas trip with the Abernethy's every year:

    Photo compliments of Dave Haas.

  2. Laz, I think you are using the same mask Captain Slate uses. Or one that looks very similiar.

  3. Hahahaha!! ROFLMAO!

If you're refering to the mask in the last photo, that was my old Oceanic Mini Shadow.. I really loved that mask but I gave it away to a good buddy who was getting certified. But now that you mentioned it it might explain why Bruiser (the Goliath Grouper) at the City of Washington wreck would always approach me for a stare-down. You know how Bruiser got his name - don't you?

But seriously, if I really would have had a mask like Slate's, I would have been a lot more hesistant about giving it away. I've been looking for one of those Froggy masks forever. I remember as a kid seeing them at K-Mart but they stopped carrying them. Anyone have any ideas where to find one? I hear they are great for photography.. The buggy eyes do a great job of blocking any glare from the sun! :)

    Note to the Wetpixel admins:

This information I've just mentioned above I'm sure others will agree belongs in the Best of Wetpixel Tips forum. You just don't pick up on such great underwater photography secrets every day!

  4. So did Bruiser actually grab someone?!? I did that "wreck alley" dive with the Deep Obsession folks before the wetpixel shark trip - is that where the City of Washington is? I can't remember the names of the wrecks. Maybe I should check my Dive Log <wink wink> yeah, I know it's around here somewhere.
