  1. Hi All,

I had just received my Subal CD20 for my 20D. I have the big dome, and the port for macro.

I use Canon 10-22mm, Sigma 50mm macro and Canon 100mm macro.

I went diving this week-end to test this new equipment.

    Well not so easy !

First of all I had a problem with the button on the door. When underwater the o'ring of the door is compressed and so all button are pressed... consequence no button exept light worked ! I was a bit disappointed, but I managed to take pictures.

I work in Adobe RGB mode in Raw mode. Something strange when I open CR2 file with Canon Digital Photo Professional I can see that they are Adobe RGB. When saved and exported to TIFF 16bits and opened under photoshop, they are all rated sRGB... Strange no ? So assigned them Adobe RGB profile, convert to sRGB (for web) and here is the result :

Can some comment on the problem and the way to handle digital workflow ?

    Thanks :)

    Regards

  2. The pics look nice. Remember that you can turn off the feature that always asks how you want to convert the file...in edit, color settings.

Make sure you're aligning the on/off switch properly and remove the eyepiece rubber and the lcd protector before installing the camera in the housing.

  4. It sounds like something's not aligned correctly. Is the camera installed so that you are able to lower the metal latch on the back of the tray?

  5. Thanks for your reply BradDB and UWPhotoTech,

Yes it was correctly aligned !

I was diving with the resailer so after the dive I spoke about the problem and we try while on surface to remove the O'ring and close the housing to simulate the pressure.

The problem was the same : no button can operate exept light, trigger and wheels ! Later I found that it was the (*) tumb lever that seems to cause the problem. The (*) appears in the view finder all the time. :)

Seems strange as I should have noticed it underwater... :)

I removed the little piece of plastic which prevent the return of the level too far (the piece appear a little too long). I will try it in the pool this evening !

Another question : The Mathias E-TTL converter seems interesting. As I understood it, it allows to operate the camera with (old) TTL flashs threw nikonos V plug. That's wright ?

Does anybody try it for Canon 20D ? I have subtronics flashs but it sounds interesting to me to be able to operate in both manual or TTL.

Does it fits in Subal housing ? Where do you order (don't seems clear to me) ?

    Regards

    Stéphane
