Nice eye-focus on the fish shot and the sunball on with the divers is well exposed (what is the third object in the water with them - wierd ray??)
Looking forward to more!

The third object is also a diver.

What excites me about the D2x is its almost nil noise. The pics look crisper and cleaner than those from my D100. Man I can't wait to upgrade. Nice shots.

This is not even a decent picture but one of those I just could not resist.
While diving with the 12-24mm hoping for a slight chance to see whale shark, my divebuddy happened to spot this. May be a tad smaller than a whaleshark but at least at 24mm end, the D2X will focus almost right up to the FE02 port itself so I could not resist a little attempt at real macro wide angle

This picture was cropped significantly. The actual saw bladeshrimp probably occupied less than 20% of the length of the full frame original.

Nice shots! The 12-24 looks very sharp, did you notice much corner softness behind the FE2? I am trying to decide between the 10.5 and the 12-24 to go with my D2x. At the moment I am inclined to get the 10.5, but your samples are making me rethink my decision.

Hi Luiz,
I think the FE02 dome works very well with the 12-24mm. I have not noticed much cornor softness at all and there is no need for diopter at all as it will focus very close.
I also have the 10.5mm but have not had a chance to try it out yet with the D2X.
So far I am really please with the result with 12-24mm though.
Here is another shot with 12-24mm

Here is another shot with 12-24mm
Is this cropped? Is it at 12mm?
Thanks for the info,
Luiz

Luiz, the shot was uncropped, 12mm, F13, 1/250 s, ISO100.

Hi,
I have one more question, how did your D2x behave with your strobes? A few people said that sometimes the strobes don't fire in manual and you have to cover or cut the ready light wire. Did you notice any problem related to this? I will be assembling my D2x /Subal/Ikelite (200 and 100a) setup next week, and just wanted a heads up on what to expect.
-
Luiz, I did not have any problem with the Ikelite strobes at all. As I understand it, Ikelite sync cord only has 2 wires connected anyway (technically you can also shoot at whatever shutterspeed you want except for the problem with mechanical shutter started to show up in pictures with faster than 1/320s).
I connected the Ikelite sync cord to the 5 wires bulkhead (since that bulkhead (left one) is in a more convenient location for me) and took almost 400 shots with no glitch whatsoever.

Thanks Boi,
My problem is that all I have are the regular Ikelite TTL sync cords (with 5 wires), as I used to shoot film before. If they don't work with the 3 wire bulkhead I will look into buying a couple of those 2 wire sync cords.

Luiz, good luck, hope that will work. When I saw that Alex cut his wire, it seems a bit too drastic for me. Beside, my hand-eye-tool coordination is not so good that I would end up cutting up the whole thing if I try

The problem that I (and a few others) experienced was that the strobes always fire, but the camera did not always write to card. This problem is long since fixed for me, and is easily solved by disconnecting the ready light wire.
