Hi folks,
I am here in Indonesia 7 days into a 17 day trip with a housing problem. Thought I might get a faster response here. I have posted an email I sent to Light and Motion below which should explain my situation. Any help would be awesome.
Thank you.
Hello from Indonesia. My name is Joe Belanger and I have your Titan D100 housing and am having serious problems with it. The ROC does not work. When I set my F-stop and shutter speed, I cannot adjust the light output accordingly. The light output seems to default to the lowest setting, as I just get a small blip of light when I trip the shutter, even when the ROC is set to deliver the maximum amount of light. Some of the time, the ROC will all of a sudden send a full strobe dump when it was delivering a small blip…all without adjusting the ROC control. If I turn the Ikelite DS50’s to manual mode, I get a full dump consistently, so I know it’s not the strobes. Last night I went on a night dive and the system worked fine. I did not change anything and the problem “just started “ the next morning. There is no leaking going on that I can tell. I am using Ikelite dual sync cords, so I am only using one bulkhead. I have tried both bulkheads with the same results.
Here’s more that I have done.
Checked strobe cords with three new ones and get the same problem.
I have a complete set of Titan replacement electronics with me and have replaced the tray circuit board but the problem still persists. I have not replaces the handle circuit boards or the leak detector/bulkhead circuit board.
I have made sure all batteries are charged and connections good.
When I take the camera out of the housing it works fine.
I need to know what board controls ROC, or what other features control ROC. The shutter and F-stop works fine on the ROC handles.
DS50 strobes are set to –2 dash per the manual. Also, if I dissassemble everything and reconnect it, the ROC works fine until I get it underwater.
I need your repair recommendations as soon as you get this email. I am 7 days into a 17 day trip with no camera. Any help you can provide is welcome.
Thank you for your help
