Help Eric get the Sport Diver cover shot!

18 posts
  1. Sport Diver Magazine is taking a poll to decide it's cover shot for the annual photo issue. One of the choices is Eric Cheng's "screaming turtle". Check it out and vote for your favorite at:

    http://www.sportdiver.com/cover_voting.jsp

  2. I'd love to vote for eric, not only to help out eric but I think it's the best. BUT which choice is eric's photo.

Being second from the left, my first instinct was that eric's photo was choice 2.

But then if you look at the hyperlink eric's photo is labled SDC1.jpg So it might be choice 1. Would hate to vote for the wrong picture.....

Wake up sport diver magazine. How can we vote if it isnt clear which one we are voting for.

  3. i think they want you to vote on the merit of the photo itself and not the photographer, that is why the names aren't there, just photo 1,2, and 3

As for which photo is Eric's i think the "screaming turtle" that Doug mentioned might be the best hint...:D:):D

  4. No you dont get my point Mike. Which photo is choice number 1? And which photo is choice number 2.

    does it go

    choice1 choice2 choice3

    or

    choice2 choice1 choice3

1,2,3 would be the obvious, but the files are saved as SDC2.jpg, SCD1.jpg, and SDC3.jpg.

Eric's photo is labled SCD1.jpg and is in the center. I could be choice 2 by location, but the name of the file implys that it is choice 1.

  5. i see exactly what you mean ... it isn't clearly laebelled. if you are still lost check out the file names and the order they are in .. and then try and see if you know which is choice 1 2 & 3

  6. Gotcha...

Guess i should check it out myself eh?

  7. Right, i just voted and Cover 2 (which we think is Eric's) is in the lead

Can't believe that the Octopus is number three though, that is a very stunning artistic shot and i think the wreck is a bit boring

Wonder if anyone from Sport Diver reads this forum...i hope it won't disqualify our man...

  8. Just voted for the turtle too.

    Cover 1=26%,

    Cover 2=39%,

    Cover 3=35%.

I agree about the occi and wreck. I know which one works for me :D

  9. Interesting, they answered my question. They updated the covers with which choice each one is.

So did any of you ask them to clarify? (I didn't)

I voted for #2 now that I'm sure it is the Turtle.

  10. I would only vote for the one I like and that is Number 2, so good luck Eric.

  11. Guys -- please, please vote for the one you like best. Don't vote for an image just because I took it. Having said that, I appreciate your support. :D

  12. I voted for the turtle too. It is clearly the strongest image.

I think people should be free to vote for that image just because it is yours, Eric. Its their vote - and they can decide how to use it! Some politicians get elected for less good reasons.

    Alex

I hope the turtle gets the cover of this prestigious issue. Plus I think that DIVE and Tauchen will also be happy that they scooped the Photo Annual!

  13. Sometimes help from friends can make the difference, even though it is the best shot of the three.

We are a community and we do need to support each other in our pursuits. :D

  14. One shot is an octopus with no eye contact. One shot is a black an white that is all grey and one shot is an in your face, jump of the page animal portrait. I know where I am voting - although I notice you are only allowed to vote once!

    Alex

  15. ... although I notice you are only allowed to vote once!

Actually...you're only allowed to vote once from a single computer. I was able to vote once at work and once at home. :D

  16. Actually...you're only allowed to vote once from a single computer.  I was able to vote once at work and once at home.  :D

Actually you can vote as many times as you want. Just vote, clear out your cookies folder and repeat. I'm not recomending voting more than once, just an FYI...

  17. Congradulations Eric.

The Poll has ended, Cover 2 has 44,44%

  18. Well done Eric - look forward to seeing the Mag.
