Humpback pectoral fin with Port St John in the background (specifically Mt Thesigny the famous straight drop airfield) Also note the black specks on the pic are actually birds, part of the 10 miles of bird activity we had.
Zero splash entry of the cape gannet. 10/10 (also note they are looking up just in case a brethren decides to dive on top of them, I've seen a gannet hit a dolphin and break its own neck)
The athletic common dolphin
The aerial ballet of the gannets just as they start the dive.
All shot with a Canon 1DII with 70-200.
Ballet indeed Drew!
I'm going to say that you're the master of this years run!
BEAUTIFUL
Thanks but hardly.... go to seapics.com and do a search on sardine run. Doug's photos are much much better.
Very sharp and great freezing of the action...were you shooting full manual, A, S, or P?
Well done, love the way the boobies (oh, ok Gannets (same thing) but the other word is better, have i mentioned i have no night life here? ) fold their wings...

I shot in Av and Tv mode mostly. To freeze the action, I used Tv mode at 1/2-4k
or f4 or less to get the shutter speed high enough.
I had plenty of night life in Yap when I was there for 5 weeks in the 90s. The villagers were always partying at the men's house and also some mixed parties in a few villages.
