Croatia trip

We just came back of a trip through Croatia with our dive-van. We did some dives here and there. The interesting underwaterlive starts at about >25m so the bottomtimes were too short and the decostops too long. <_<

My favorite part of europe, but not for the diving! Did you dive off the island of Vis? Back in 98, it was so protected because of the military base there was full of fish. Now it's like a desert cos the fishermen went nuts. Even killed off the last of the monk seals (now endangered) for fear of competition.

How about the wrecks off Pula? There are many ancient wrecks that many dive shops won't talk about until the salvage laws change to benefit the finders. Some have even poured more sand to cover them up.

I agree, it is one of the most beautiful countries of Europe, topside.

I did some dives around the National park Kornati (island Murter) and at some wrecks at Pula indeed.

At Pula the viz was too bad and the dives too deep to get images worth posting.

Interesting! I knew it was a beautiful country topside and I'm fascinated to see what it is like UW. What is the water temperature like?

Temps at depth are nice and comfortable: 14' C.
