Do any of you use some kind of screen film to protect the lcd on your camera? I notice my screen gets "cheeks prints" and am constantly wiping it off. So I and am wondering if this scratches easily and or if anyone uses like a palm pilot screen protector over it.

I use Hoodman Hoodskins. www.hoodmanusa.com. I purchased mine at a local camera shop. They fit all size LCD screens from 1.5-inches to 4 inches. The $20 price includes 12 sheets ... three sets of four different sizes. If your exact size isn't included, you can trim one to fit precisely. They are clear vinyl, similar to the protective material often used by manufacturers, only clearer. They peel off easily without residue for replacement, though I've been using the same ones for several years on my Canon digital SLRs. They do a nice job of protecting the screen from scratches, and also come in handy for other items including camcorder screens, iPod screen and some PDA screens.
In my personnal experience I find that it soften too much the image and make it hard to judge if the focus is good or not, i've had two Nikon D100 and one Fuji S2pro for quite some time now and they still look good even for daily working camera. BTW I don't even use the original plastic protector from Nikon both cracked long time ago and never bothered to replace them, it's a new ball game with today's camera, you have to behave well or reality will bite back at you, today's gear is (not that) fragile and needs to be handled with better care than my old 35mm mechanical kluncker. you know it's as fragile as the front of your lens, treat it the same I say.
I use the PPC WriteShield C2 (Crystal Clear) on my PDA2K (Pocket PC+cell phone combo). It impressed me so much that I cut one down for my cameras.
The C2 version is literally like having a bare screen as far as clarity goes. My cell phone has had one since I bought it, about 8 months, and has zero damage to the screen, same for the cameras.
My cameras are tools, and I certainly don't baby them; still, I haven't had a higher failure rate than my old F3's and 4's had.
All the best, James
No point putting a screen protector, I got my 10D when it first came out, I don't baby it at all, the rear LCD is still scratch free. My 10D has around 40K shutter actuations on it.

I uses the LCD Protectors with my P&S cameras, its work great doesn't effect the view image and doesn't cost much.
i'll try that PPC write shield, sound good, as a foot note, I flooded my D100 plus 14mm and Igig card (in fresh water) and its still working perfect, so when i say today's camera are (not that) fragile, that's what I mean they just have more scrathable area exposed .
