Rumored D200 announcement Sept 1

I'm on the fence as to whether I should house my D2H and then upgrade to the D2X

That my plan also, since getting the D2H, I hardly shoot with the D100's I have, so the day I move up to the "X" I will have my "H" back up body in hand already.

Man, underwater photographer are either very rich or very much in debt !

Choices seems to be:

Wait for new Nikon, wait for new housing, buy both and then carry yet another charger and more, different battery packs around, or

Wait and buy a second D2X used as prices drop!

To be blunt, I'm not upgrading my EOS1DS simply because it already delivers image quality in excess of what is usable most of the time, and it already shows up flaws in existant lenses - I suspect that the D2X is similar in both respects.

There will always be a new camera coming out but unless someone really has something up their sleeve, then improvements are unlikely to be dramatic. Speculation is one thing but practicalities are another!

Out of curiosity, what does the "?" label next to the second from the bottom left button represent?

The button itself is the Protect button. I don't know what the ? indicates. My D2H has the same buttons but no ?. For what it's worth I think this photo is the real thing. All of the button are the same as my D2H but in a slightly different configuration. If it's not real, It's a very elaborate hoax.

That's the Help button, it offers more information on a Menu Function.

I hope it's a hoax, I would'nt want a small finder like that if I could avoid it, and that pop up flash... it's never been a sign of a pro level camera, from the picture I say hardly a chalenger for the 5D, let's hope and see.

I thought the D200 was supposed to be a challenger to the 20D, not the 5D. The viewfinder does look small, but it seems that the AF system will be very similar to the D2.
