<p> <span>Through photography I combine art with science. Photography has been my primary creative outlet since a teenager when I began developing film and making prints in the darkroom. My education culminated in 1991 when I received a Ph.D. in Oceanography from the </span><a href="https://www.sfos.uaf.edu/" rel="external nofollow"><span>University of Alaska Fairbanks</span></a><span>. Underwater photography augmented my dissertation research on salmon ecology.
