  1. Yeah me too. Though I did find the charging mechanism a bit quirky. But sad news indeed.
  2. Let's move on, guys.....
  3. Hi Johan! Great to have you with us. Welcome to Waterpixels!

Great to have you with us, jkepic! Welcome to Waterpixels.
  5. Fear? Partner watching your every move? Trying to figure out how much you can claim it cost?
  6. I use the Tokina all the time for WA. Although I have both a 100 and a 140 port, unless I am setting out to do under/overs, I always use the 100. I can't see an advantage in the 140 for standard WA shots with the Tokina. Totally agree with this. I think going with that one-lens-which-can do-anything is not a recipe for success. The problem is not the lens but the way having that range of options impacts on the creative thinking process. Pick a lens and go out thinking about what you can create with that. Photography is much about visualisation of an end result and then going out to achieve it.

Careful, I think folks have been cancelled for less...... 🤣
  10. I love to see sanity check and new (underwater camera) system in the same sentence. Ha! How sane are we to spend so much cash and take all this sensitive gear in salt water? Good luck on that final decision making, visalia. Just confirm to us all that you remain sane at the end of the process; and what pills you took. I'd like to order some. 🙈

Now that is a cracking idea! Keeps those bolts safe and sound. I like it!
  12. TimG replied to Hiloboy's post in a topic in Photography Gear and Technique
Yep, exactly the same for me. Zip-lock bag with screws and Allen keys which, from time to time, punch their way through the plastic in an effort, I suspect, to escape. Ha!

Simon! Great to have you with us. I remember you well from when I ran the dive operation at KBR. We hope you enjoy the forum. As Davide says, welcome to your new home.
  14. All of the above, Davide. Stressus Maximus: new gear, more travel, more diving. Then I woke up and saw my partner. Merry Christmas!
  15. D400 or D500?
  16. I'm with Wolfgang on the 45-degree finder. I've been using one on my Subal ND500 housing since 2008 and would never leave home without it. Arguably the best "investment" I've made on my housing. As I've written elsewhere, Nauticam reckon the Nikkor 24-50mm and WWL-C are the way to go for wide-angle on FF. I have no personal experience though.

Good to have you with us, Reuben. Welcome!
  18. Hey Reuben I'm a D500 user and, yep, I would not want to switch out of that for a full-frame system particularly for the wide-angle element for all the reasons you outline. I think in your position I'd be tempted to look for a D500 housing and camera. I'd be surprised if those cost $5000. It'd be worth posting a Like To Buy advert here and see what lines up.

  21. Thanks Wolfgang. Good on the dynamic mode fix but bad on the continuing monochromatic thing. And this is v6.0.3 too. Urgh. In the Release Notes for 6.0.2 it suggested that it was possible to modify icons. This sounded better than what was feasible in 6.0. Have you tried icon modification at all?

Yep, you do indeed, Bio. We ask people to introduce themselves as we think that's a friendly start and a way to try and weed out the scammers and fraudsters. We're delighted to have you with us and hope you find the forum really useful. Welcome!
