Another video using my GoPro 11 a couple of wet lenses and two, Light and Motion, Sola 3800 video lights. I'm considering investing in a housed mirrorless camera for additional focal lens capability. Not sure where to start any suggestions would be helpful. I would like to keep it as compact as possible.

4K HDR Video "Alor: A Hidden Gem For Divers"

Love that opening scene. Pleasure to watch. -
Nice work, I'm liking the colors and compositions. I just got back from the Philippines and we also had bad weather in the form of heavy winds. Still a magical place.

Cuba - Los Jardines de La Reina, Gardens of the Queen

Hey Jim thanks for the detailed response, I truly appreciate it and it's another example of why this online community is so cool. Looking forward to seeing your photos or video from your trip to Cuba. For me the highlights are definitely the many sharks and those Goliath Grouper .... oh my! -
The end of Light & Motion

Wow thanks for the heads up and posting this unfortunate update. OK now the question is what brand of video light do people recommend? I've been using the Sola 3800 lights for quite awhile now and have been happy. I like to keep my underwater video rig small and compact using two lights. Eventually I'll need to upgrade to something new. Any thoughts? -
Congratulations nice video, thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Raja Ampat is on my short list of next dive destinations.

Boat carrying 31 tourists sinks near Egypt’s Marsa Alam: reports
PeterN replied to Davide DB's topic in General Chat
I can imagine that. I dove the Thislegorm back in 2019 and have never seen so many divers on a wreck. It was comical. At one point I was kicked in the head by a diver coming in the opposite direction. We ended up diving it around four in the morning just to see the inside without the crowd. -
Which wet lens did you use for this clip? My biggest complaint with the GoPro has always been macro but after seeing your post and doing some web searching on the Inon site this looks very impressive. Heading to the Philippines in January and I'm thinking the G100 may be the perfect addition.

Were all these clips taken with a GoPro? If so I'm impressed with the small subjects.

I would love to see the footage of the crocodile. That would have completed my video in my mind, however we can't forget we are dealing with nature and it just didn't happen. A hurricane tore through the area a week before so perhaps that was a factor. -

No actual crocodile !! Apparently they feed them raw chicken and you can photograph or take video of them from the water. Yes - I know it sounds crazy, but wow how cool would that be ..... of course as long as you don't get bit. -

Yes I have to agree about the White Balance. My weak point for sure I need to wrap my head around that with the GoPro. The ray - shark encounter happened so fast! Also, if you look at I think the last Grouper shot with his mouth open and look closely there is a lobster in his mouth. The dive master just feed him but unfortunately I didn't get that shot. Another shot that eluded me was the crocodile. Went looked for it twice but it never made an appearance. Argh ....... -
Thanks for posting this topic. I am currently using a GoPro 11 with two Light and Motion Sola, 3800 lights and the reviews I have seen so far have a lot of examples of natural light clips and auto White Balance. I would love to see a proper review using a tray and video lights that is more in-depth. I fully took note of everyone's comments about the "ugly" unnatural colors. It's those unbiased opions that I love about Waterpixels. I did notice all the YouTube influencers / reviews dropped on YouTube at exactly the same date and time. Insta 360's marketing department is working hard! But they all did seem to be impressed with the new action camera. But then again they did get a free camera out of the deal - oh my. It is good to see GoPro being challenged with the newer tech and we as consumers will be the winners after we sort out the good from the bad.

No kidding Aquaballet was right up there with your film. Top two of the night for sure! There were so many good films but these two were so unique. Five mill that's impressive and I thought I was a "tough" diver in 11 C water diving a drysuit here in San Diego! Yikes ... Very well done much respect!

It was a great show and Jonathan Bird (Jonathan Bird's Blue World) did a nice job as the emcee hosting the two nights. A fun activity every year.

I saw your video at the San Diego Underwater Film festival. My wife and I agreed it was one of our favorites. Nice work! The free diver was wearing a wetsuit must have been really cold. How long was she in the water?

Waterproof GoPro 15X lens Options?
PeterN replied to brightnight's topic in GoPro, Compact, Smartphones and Gadgets
If it actually works and works underwater that would be awesome. One of my biggest complaints about the GoPro is not having many options for macro video/photo. -
Thank you so much! It is interesting when I re-watch a video that I have already finished, I see little things that I would have changed. The self critique is always present, but I would have to think it just makes the next one better. At least I hope so.....

What time of the year did you take the video and is there a particular time you think is best? I do understand Mother Nature always has the last say on conditions. Great video, loved all the colors. I need to plan a trip to the area.

Oh wow - good information. I just ordered a "Shark Skin" wetsuit with a thigh pocket for my next trip. I'm going to keep the lens in my pocket until I'm submerged then attach. Hoping that will protect this or any future wet lens. Camera rinse thanks on the boats scare me now.
