Ask for the setup with OM-1 for most of UWP scenarios.
Nauticam has it listed as compatible with the 90mm in normal macro mode. I'm planning on picking up an MFO 3 later this month and will report back

Yes, it was an immediate regret 🤣 Never again...

I'd chime in here and say the 30mm Panasonic is great for blackwater. The 60mm would be very hard to use in my opinion for that. Maybe the MFO-3 would make it similar to the 30mm for blackwater, but it's twice the price of the 30mm lens. I also tried the OMD 90mm macro lens once on a blackwater dive and it was almost impossible to use, don't think I got nay usable photos 😅

Nauticam discontinues N85 to N120 Metabones adapter
Based on what he told me it sounds like that's probably what he means as he mentions physical interference between the adapter and the viewfinder: The MB_EF-m43-BT2 does not fit to the OM System OM-1 due to the physical interference between the adapter and camera body(viewfinder). I already had to grind my adapter a bit as well for it to work with the Isotta housing so that's not an issue if I need to grind more.

Nauticam discontinues N85 to N120 Metabones adapter
Oh wow I just realized your custom zoom gear uses the housing knob and so eliminates the need for the knob on the adapter at all. That is much better as it lets me use whatever is the closest in length to the original setup.

Nauticam discontinues N85 to N120 Metabones adapter
Hi Chris, this is super useful. To confirm, are you using the Metabones MB_EF-m43-BT2 adapter? This is the one I currently own, but the metabones people told me it won't work with the OM-1 and I need to buy the newer version, MB_EF-m43-BT4, instead. If there's some way to make the one I have work that saves me $400... Nauticam also confirmed that ~2mm difference shouldn't really make a difference, which I guess just leaves me needing a custom zoom knob. I have no experience designing 3d printed objects so I'll have to see what my options are there I suppose.

Nauticam discontinues N85 to N120 Metabones adapter
I am also planning to use it with the Canon 8-15. I found a shop in Australia that may have one in stock, if that isn't feasible I'll look into other combinations, though I'm hesitant to purchase without confirmation from Nauticam it would work or a personal anecdote.

Nauticam discontinues N85 to N120 Metabones adapter
If anyone has one of these I would like to purchase it. I did talk to Nauticam and they will make me one MOD (manufacturing on demand) at a 30% price increase, which is painful given how expensive their gear already is.

Help with Retra Burst Shooting
I'll try this out later with my Retra Pro Max strobes. I seem to remember struggling with burst shooting above 1/2 power but under that it was okay.

Looking for opinions about wide angle for Dauin
You could definitely shoot wide angle at Apo. But you could also just shoot macro there as well. You will definitely not shoot wide angle anywhere else near Dauin.

Preview of the MFO-2 - Now called MFO-3
Yes, this is what they recommended. However, the whole point of me switching from the 60mm to the 90mm was so that I didn't need a diopter for super macro. Oh well, maybe once the new generation of OM cameras comes out I'll switch from Isotta to Nauticam just for the port with the selector switch!

Thanks. They have it listed on their website as compatible with the 90mm in "normal macro" mode. I don't have a Nauticam housing and my port won't let me change modes underwater, I mostly use it set to "S-Macro" mode. When I emailed Nauticam asking if it would work in S-Macro they said: "For MFO-3 to work well, the lens needs access to its entire focus range." So I may be out of luck!

Hi Chris, do you happen to have the Oly 90mm? I'm quite interested in that lens with the MFO-3 as well.

If any m43 users can post some pictures of this with the 90MM macro lens that would be wonderful. I'm pretty interested but don't want to spend $700+ dollars on an experiment.

How did he like it with the 90mm? It would be nice to get a bit wider field of view with that lens at times (can't imagine even with the MFO-3 it would be a good choice for blackwater though!).

new Retra strobe the Pro Max II
Had I known these were coming out I also would have waited... 😅

Palawan Phillipines diving
I wear the same 2mm all year. I don't need it when the water is 28-30 degrees but wear it for protection from jellyfish and the sun. I run warm so I never need a 3mm or 5mm diving in the tropics.

Palawan Phillipines diving
I find the number of creatures to be similar but to be fair I'm always shooting macro in Anilao. I dive in a sharkskin all year (maybe 2mm equivalent), but I run warm.

new Retra strobe the Pro Max II
Just bought 2 new Pro Max strobes about 3 months ago. Doesn't feel great haha.

Palawan Phillipines diving
I agree Moalboal is just "okay" these days. It's gone downhill after the typhoon in 2019 destroyed several good dive spots. Coron is only interesting if you like wreck diving in my opinion. Malapascua has the sharks, but also great macro diving at Gato Island for example, which has good walls as well. Bohol would be another place to consider, balicasag and pamilacan island are quite nice for reef diving and are day trips.

Palawan Phillipines diving
Feb is great for visibility but has the coldest water temps in Anilao of the year. It gets down to around 23-24 Celsius, up to you t determine if that is too cold or not ^_^

Palawan Phillipines diving
There are several good sites in Anilao for reef diving. You'll just have to ask to visit those particular dive sites if that's what you're looking for.

Changing viewfinder
I also have an Isotta with the 45 degree Inon viewfinder. I honestly don't use any tool at all, I just screw it hand tight. Never had an issue.

MFO-1 and focus limiter
I'm also interested in this, including the newer Olympus 90mm. I care less about the working distance change and more about the image quality increase I've heard people talk about.

Popularity of underwater video vs photo?
I take stills and my partner shoots video. While sometimes i actually like her video better than my photos, the main thing for me is the editing process. I spend maybe 30 seconds-3 mins on a photo in lightroom. She spends at minimum 20-30 minutes in premiere trimming videos, arranging clips, adding music, etc. It's a real chore compared to photo editing in my opinion and as a result she has terabytes of unedited video on hard drives. Sure you can just post your unedited clips but those are the videos no one wants to watch!
