With OM-1 mk1 and Nauticam trigger I can reach 1/400 easily with no banding, banding starts at 1/500.

Hi Wofgang, in addition to Backscatter and Retra you can try contacting Fabio Iardino the owner of Snooty. He is an Italian underwater photographer who produces optical handmade snoots for different flashes with central and offset aiming lights such as Seacam, One UW, Retra and Inon. I don't see the HF-1 listed among the models but you can give it a try. I have one of his snoots for an AOI Q1 flash and I am happy with it. In addition to bumpers and sleeves already mentioned I do use reduction and macro rings, I find them very convenient when shooting super macro subjects.

I am very happy with my Kraken Hydra 1500+ WSR. It features both flood and spot mode and the battery has a built in USB-C port so you do not need a battery charger. I usually change batteries between dives but Kraken claim a burn time of 85 minutes at 100% in flood mode.
