Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome. Here's one more for ya. It's one of dem der Grunt sculpins. The reason I like it is because the lighting, composition and contrast are great.........wouldn't you agree Bob?

Yeah it's a nice shot - nice fish too. Only minor thing is the OOF in the foreright, but it's not degrading.
You're right. Actually, I'm looking foward to watching and learning in Port Hardy. I'm probably better at finding subjects than shooting them. It should be interesting.

Those Grunt Sculpin (my apologies for the common name) are hard to shoot sometimes. They just won't sit still for you. Now, that was when I was trying to shoot them with a framer, hopefully that changes now.
I also look forward to the tonnes of Nudibranchs. Chris, the captain and owner of the boat , has an interest in these. He has talked about trying to do a book on them one day.
Then there are the Decorated warbonnets. They would be one of may favourite ones. I don't have a great compositional shot of one but got a neat eye shot.
ps Rand, I really like your shark shot by the way. They are a little near and dear to my heart.

Of course for a small charge we could Thranslate it into English too!
Nice Shot Todd!
I must admit I'm looking forward to seeing these wolf eels. Pretty little possums.
What are the chances on seeing dolphin pods or even killer whales?
Last time we had pods of 3-400 Pacific Whitesideds on most of the days. They were feeding with the 5 humpbacks. We had humpbacks on most days. Never saw Orcas but they were reported in the area.
September is usually the best month for all of the above but, it is unpredictable. This year the boat said everything was in early, more of some things than others. It just all depends.
The nice thing is they will go and spend as much time as you want with them. They give you the option of staying or going to do a dive. We did get in with the dolphins when boat traffic was not as heavy around them. The fishery officier even assisted by making passes with his boat to bring them in closer.
It was amazing to see the humpbacks feeding and, to have them right beside the boat at times. The Pacific White sided dolphins are little acrobats. They are usually doing flips etc.
Wolf eels are a guarantee. The one dive had about 13 of them all in one small area. The other wreck dive usually has two of them.
