Great gallery Alex. It was interesting to see some new work in there.
I wish you'd put up the locations though (instead of just numbering the shots alex_01...). Some I recognise, but others I'm dying to know where they are shot...

Intersesting thread folks...
Abit silly charging people to use a forum...o well thier loss..
Anyhow I remember I once had a Glass URPRO for my Navigator 900 and then I went and put in Plastic one abit later on and remember the footage just looked different. Both filters looked the same strengh though comparing them side by side.
Another reason why internal Glass is better for video, more so with HDV, is that the smallest of marks will show up in the video if shooting into the sunlight so it's important that the filter is spotless hence glass being easier to keep spotless. With a still it's easy to fix with a clone tool etc but not video..to many frames...
Alex I damaged the thin plastic Magic Filter (to delicate like Kelly)
I got to try for my video housing but will recut it down for our D70. Not sure how I can get it between the lens and camera though. Anyone done this out there.
Wags if you have a 10.5 there is a filter slot in the rear of the lens into which it slides quite nicely. If you are going to try it on a 12-24 or some such, then you'll need to be a little more creative and try some sort of sticky stuff... perhaps blu-tack? I've got mine mounted on the front of the zoom...
You cannot judge filters just by looking at them. Filters are rather more complicated that the colour that they look.
For example UR Pro CY and SW-CY look identical but they are not. It is the details of the transmission spectra that are important.
Another example is that the original magic filter looks orangy, but the transmission spectra is nothing like a standard orange filter.

This is the magic transmission spectra and it lets through lots of red, orange and yellow light, some green and very little blue.
And orange filter, which may look quite similar, has a much more defined peak in the orange (although I don't have an example).

Hey Nick,
Yes, I was surprised at Video Universities change as well. Then again, it was getting less and less traffic. Never the less, I stopped going or posting there at all. I do admit to being surprised that more folk are not using Cliff Excell's excellently produced website. Its a shame as it clearly shows how much work he put into it.
