So here I am off to Canon to pick up my camera after a service and calibration in Singapore ( 4 days is fast work!) and I walk into the elevator while Japanese gentlemen were yakking away. They hushed up then one guy said I doubt he speaks Japanese and continued to talk about this big event on Aug 22. My Japanese is rusted but I did pick up a new product release in a week's time. Well it's not really a rumor since it's all over the internet that Canon has the 1DsMK2 successor coming real soon. But I thought it was funny how these 2 Canon dudes were yakking away about the launch. They never spoke about the model specifically. But anyhow... stay tuned for next week.

I too have heard a rumour of a big launch coming up soon (from a completely different source) - pointless speculating. We shall have to wait and see.

If this is true it will most probably be during the Photokina in Germany. That show is at the end of August.

Canon have an official product launch/dealer event in the UK next week.
