A friend of mine who recently got into under water videography is having problems with little water droplets sticking to the port after a dive on the surface. If he wants to shoot a scene of the divers on the surface exiting or entering the water those droplets really get in the way of a good shot. When those drops dry during a surface interval they start to ruin the underwater scenes of the next dive too. Can something like RainX be used? Maybe there is something guys use for over/under shots to keep water off the FE lens that would work here? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try baby shampoo or dish soap - I'd stay away from the RainX
