  1. Look at that MO FO!!!!

    How bloody cool is that!!!!!

What is the out of water weight of RED, AQHousing ETC?

Any issues with fogging due to the temp of RED?

Congrats mate, great to see after all the waiting etc.

    Jon

  2. Yeah YouTube it. You know you want to

    Cheers, Simon

  3. Yeah Dean, but think of the Mr. Universe workout Mark is getting...better than sitting at my editing bay all bleedin' day. Hey Mark, have a shoot in Alaska at the end of June...can I borrow the Red you have there for the shoot. I'm sure Ken Corbin won't mind. ;-)

    Steve B)

  4. Hey Dean, good job I didn't post a video clip o me holding that, what with the quivering top lip and all under the strain of carrying that suckah!

jonny, it all depends on the setup of the camera for weights etc. In the housing with the RED 18-55mm lens and stripped for underwater it weighs in at around 40lbs. The AQ housings are aluminium so the heat dissipates very quickly and no condensation issues have thus far been encountered, and we didn't even have dessicate packs in the housings either.

Steve, trying to do a run n gun EFP shoot recently with this system was a challenge I can tell ya. Underwater its a breeze. We'll figure out a way for you to offer RED services in Alaska if desired.

Next few weeks sees me traveling through the U.K, time to meet that deviant Dean (watch my wallet)B, then the U.S (get those R&C's chilled Steve) off to Bali, gotta go drink warm beer with Mike Veitch and then work calls in Australia, NE Russia and Northern Japan. It's all go. Time to shake out those Airline blankets. Jeez, not looking forward to excess baggage fees!!!

    Cheers,

    Mark.

  5. Way to go Mark.

Looking forward to seeing some footage.

I hear they run hot....does it heat up in the housing?

  6. hey Wagsy,

I haven't actually shot my own RED camera yet, this deal was part of a facilitation package for some shooters on a Recce here in South Africa. I go to California next week to catch up with my system and then on to meetings with the bosses in DC. Fun!!

To that end the footage from this trip is not mine to show. I will take some in due course and try posting for all to see. That may take a while as after 6 months on this project I need a break. Off somewhere hot for that.

The cameras are fine if the housings have front and / or rear plate elements made from Aluminium. The prototype AQ housings were all PVC and they did experience heat build up. By placing an Ali front plate they dissipated by 80% the heat build up, which was pretty severe as I understand. The end product now is a practical and well balanced housing option.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

P.S Still no news from those scientists in Perth. WIll keep you posted on movements.
