  1. Then it should "just" be to get it working in that wet element as well.

I would expect the normal "suspects":

    * pointing the Strobes correctly,

    * not waiting long enough for the Strobe to recharge &

    * the "advanced cancel circuit" button not pushed in etc.

Been there, done that and still happens

    Hello Erik

    i hope so,

but underwater, in portugal, the water is dark green, and increases the dificulties, the viz is +/- 5mts at the places i use to dive...

i am going to Malasya by the end of this month, and i am trying to have everything ready, including all this questions...

    thank you all

  3. Hi Bernardo,

Don't worry! I am a swedish guy living in Munich, Germany. So, I know everything about cold green murky water with bad viz

Green water with bad viz makes it even more important to set the Strobes correctly. When it is really crap viz, then I tend to set the Strobes a bit lower.

Have fun in Malysia! I used to live for a while in SGP. So, Malaysia was more or less my backyard. Where are you going?

    /Erik

    Hi Erik

    i am going to Tioman.

you set your strobes lower? how do you do that?

  5. Hi Bernardo,

Either you run it in Manual mode or TTL/Manual mode ( atleast I believe the INON call something like that). In the TTL/Manual mode you are limiting the upper working range of the TTL.

You can actually limit the max allowed Strobe dump in TTL mode, by having the advanced cancel circuit ( the bottom right hand corner) pushed in and switching from STTL to M -0,5 to -6. It is supposed to be for Film Cameras with TTL, but it seems to work.

You can then limit the maximum allowed strobe dump in TLL mode.

Have fun in Tioman. When I lived in Singapore, Pulau Tioman was the weekend dive trip. I did a couple of long weekend liveaboards there as well. Where I stayed the Restaurants did not sell alcohol, but there was a sort of Liquor store. You bought your alcohol there and brought back to the Restaurant. I thought that it was quite a funny thing. They will probably not have any Vinho Verde

    Enjoy!

  6. After my saturday dive, i still have the same problem, my photos does not have "color" and contrast

what can i do? shoul i increase EV or something?

  7. It still sounds and looks as if at least one strobe is firing with the conditioning preflash and not at the right time. What happens if you go fully manual with a simple electronic connection? I understand that the TTL adapter has to be properly set up on the internal switches, have you checked? I can't say more as I use an optical connection to my z240s, which, so far, seems foolproof except for internal reflections when I turn my strobes off (I have made a series of light baffles to slide over my lenses and fit into the base of each port).

  8. Hi again Bernardo,

Never give up! Yes, you might get frustrated, but never give up. Getting frustrated is a part of the game :uwphotog:

From these 2 pics I believe that it is down to the Strobe positioning. Both Pics seems to lack strobe light down the middle. There is more strobe light on the sides. Could that be the issue?

    1st Pic:

I do not find the Colours too bad. Remember that the TTL works good up to about 1m distance to subject. There is however some snow from the Strobes.

  9. Do you think that i should set the external converter for -2/3 EV?

  10. Bernardo,

I have never messed around with the TTL Converter directly. So, I can not say anything about it.

I use the Method of the Z240, TTL+Manual. I prefer that, since it gives me more flexibility while diving.

its exactly the same as set -2/3 ev at the camera...

  12. I don't really think that they are the same.

The Camera EV is from my understanding a dynamical setting that also affects Aperture, Shutter speed etc depending on settings. So, it should also affect the Strobe, due to that. There is also a Strobe correction. Well, I can not change that while in the UW-Housing.

The TTL+Manual is hard limiting the Strobe dump.

  13. Hi all

    i'm back from vacations

and the temp of my strobes run quite well (i think so)

i did have to set -1.7 ev at my camera, and the srtobe set in TTL
