RED One housing field tests

Hi all,

Just to let you know that I am currently in Palau on a shoot and that we have four RED One cameras and three housings from different manufacturers. Am shooting for an LA based concern and as such part of our plan was to write up a report on the field experiences with prototype housings from:

Gates

AquaVideo

AquaVideo / Element Technica

The report should be done in a few days as a .pdf so will see about posting that somewhere for readers here.

Thanks for that. You can always post the PDF in the thread or if it's larger than 2mb (and I'll assume it is if you're doing 3 housing evaluations with pics), just email me the file and I'll put it in the WP server.

We had a bunch of Greenforce SQUID 250w HID's, a surface supplied 650w (x 2) lightheads loaned from Bob Cranston, a whole bunch of surface lighting mixture between Tungsten and Halogen. All in all enough variety for great tests. I shot a night macro scene using the Squids and they were more than adequate.

What is the weight diff between the GATES and the Aqua video?

Any issues with the cam heating up too much and cutting out?

Is the monitor on the top the standard gates 4.3 inch or is it a special one for the red?

All will be reveled in the next few days. Working on the .pdf as we speak.
