White Colour Nexus D700 housing (Special Edition)

Apparently Nexus Japan has obliged an exclusive dealer in Asia (www.fun-in.com.tw) a run of only 8 white colour (gasp!) housing for the Nikon D700. Other runs is the original champagne silver. Guess the Japs are fascinated with white wetsuits, white fins and white mask and everything white.

I will post the pictures once I get my hands on them.

And before anyone label me as a mouthpiece for a commercial shop, let me state officially that I'm not. Just happened to stumble onto the news when I purchased a fisheye port from the dealer for me D90 housing.

I think that the black Aquaticas are the coolest looking colour-wise.

Black is always the coolest. Next is red. Followed by canary yellow. All the hot colours of porsches, ferrarris and lambos.

What is the name of your shop and where are u guys located? I am going down to Singapore in end July and want to get port for 105mm VR.

I 100% agree with you. For "marketing" should be different thread or even different forum

Personally I came to Nexus exactly because of fantastic technical advantages (using Inon via optic in TTL and high quality class glass ports).

So, lets be more technical here

Much, much more important: how do Nexians get gear in Europe and the USA, as delivery is so unpredictable?

I love my housing, but it has become really frustrating to try and get ports, extension rings and even gears...

... and as for a new housing, by the time one appears in Europe, two further generations of camera have appeared!

Please, please: more silver housings, rather than fancy colours!

I just found Anthis-Nexus announced D700 officially on their web site

and noticed it is not M5 nor M6 but, using M4 size port (which originally

developed for F4 housing) which means customer has to buy a new set

of ports unless you already have it.

Not really.

All what you need to do is just buy an ADAPTER between different size of ports, e.g. ring, same as if you may have let say UV filter 72mm and want to use with 62mm lens

Dont want to interfere US distributors, but in this case, what stop you to buy from Aus or UK ?

To my knowledge they are very fast, especially in advertising of new models

And I think, Marinecamera is also very good

If you can be more specific in that technical matters (gears and ports) then drop me email.. may be I can help..

p.s. I dont think that silver is a right color personally I will prefer black I think silver was great "marketing" of SEACAM guys, but marketing is marketing and taste is taste, however "taste" of client can be manipulated by manufacturer via marketing isnt it?

I had thought of by-passing the D300, waiting to see what Nikon do next, but am concerned at the lead time and then the delivery time for a housing.

And I did not know that in UK "no longer dealer is available".

Why not to try US or Asia in this case

The world is flat isn't it?

Personally I may recommend to upgrade D200 to D300 on a few reasons: 14bit better for wide angle and constant AF tracking is useful feature. The rest IMHO is the same
