Hi Guys,
Just merged these two threads!
There's an expression in Yorkshire (and probably elsewhere) that you can't polish a turd
I think it's in Lancashire too-although there are still pitched battles being fought over that too! LOL!

I wish I hadn't deleted those images with my sync cord dangling over the dome, or those shots with the zoom gear bounding about.
I know this thread is about a month old, but having just gotten PS CS5 installed and spent a few minutes playing with it, I can now say from personal experience that the Content Aware feature is simply amazing! Got a blurry fish in front of, or half a fish showing amongst, complex coral branches? Click - it's gone and the coral branches are filled in as though the program knew what they looked like behind the fish! ![]()
It doesn't work in every single instance (for example, if you've got grotesque amounts of backscatter, the Content Aware will just replace the section you select with more backscatter that is in the areas around your selection.
But for "cleaning up" items/sections of photos with complex backgrounds, it is just plain friggin cool! ![]()
Having said all that, I'm afraid I have to agree with the earlier post that it will, unfortunately, make it far easier for people to get rid of watermarks. ![]()
I'm with you Bruce, I just got my copy up and running and it is amazing. One thing I learned, the algorithm has enough varibles in that that you will get a slightly different fill if you do it repeatedly. So if you don't like something about how the content aware fill worked, just do it again and you'll get a different answer.
I hadn't thought about the watermark issue though. Maybe there is a texture or pattern that will be hard to remove. Some research may be in order.
Cheers,
Steve
